As a small, independent and parent governed school, with minimal government funding, Banksia Montessori School needs the support of parents. We understand that some parents do not have sufficient time for this due to other obligations. These parents pay a higher term fee.
Parents who pay the lower fee and thus choose to be involved are expected – and not merely encouraged – to help with various tasks around the school throughout the year, see the List of Activities for Option 2 Families. These include: to join our quarterly Busy Bee, to actively participate in Parent-Council Meetings and to consider joining the School Council.
Our School Council comprises of a minimum of five parent members. Their task is to set and co-ordinate strategic planning of the School and oversee Finances.
