Banksia Montessori School

Our learning environment at Banksia Montessori School is fortunate to be based in a quiet and leafy pocket of Dianella.

The school is set on a large block of land with plenty of space for a veggie garden, a sand pit, two playgrounds and a generous sized grass area for sports activities.

The classroom is spacious, well-furnished and well-equipped. A large store room at the back of the classroom holds surplus equipment enabling staff to rotate the Montessori apparatus throughout the year. Each new term brings with it a new theme and some of the equipment rotated may relate to the term theme. The students are always super excited and enthusiastic to use the new equipment.

There is sufficient space for parents to park during pick-up and drop-off. The added benefit of a park right beside the school, enables younger siblings to play and offers an opportunity for parents to have a picnic with others after pick-up.

In 2017, with the amazing fundraising efforts of Banksia families, the school was able to upgrade the grounds. A musical cubby house was installed along with the addition of a second building.

The Emelinda Stephen building (named after a long-term Principal of the school), houses a multi-functional room for music & art, incursions and an extension program for pre-kindy and kindy children in the afternoon. The front room of this building functions as the Administration office.
