Banksia Montessori School in Perth is an Independent School located in the friendly suburb of Dianella in Perth’s Northern Suburbs. We run a quality driven Montessori program for children between 3 and 6 years of age.
We are fortunate to be based in a quiet and leafy pocket of Dianella. Banksia Montessori School in Perth is set on a large block of land with plenty of space for a veggie garden, a sand pit, two playgrounds and a large grass area for sports activities. The classroom is very spacious, well-furnished and well-equipped. 2017 is a year of growth. The last couple of years the school has been fundraising for an update of the school grounds, a musical cubby house and a second building that now houses a multi-functional room for music & art, incursions, playgroup sessions in the morning and an extended care program for pre-kindy and kindy children in the afternoon.
Nurturing and inviting learning environment
All our children are given the opportunity to learn in a nurturing and inviting environment. Our goal for each child is to realise their unique potential. We provide an enriching environment where our teachers guided by Montessori philosophy, encourage independence, creativity and mindfulness in a non-competitive, non-judgemental environment. Everything in our classroom is child-sized and easy to reach. The environment encourages respect and facilitates the development of self-discipline, self-motivation and concentration leading to a natural love of learning.
Small, independent and parent governed school
As a small, independent and parent governed school, with minimal government funding, Banksia Montessori School needs the support of parents. We understand that some parents do not have sufficient time for this due to other obligations. These parents pay a higher term fee. Parents who pay the lower fee and thus choose to be involved are expected to help with various tasks around the school throughout the year, such as the quarterly Busy Bee, to attend Parent-Council Meetings and to consider joining the School Council.
